Wellness on Wheels: Mobile clinics bring free medical care to Dubai residents
Al Jalila Foundation expands mobile clinic services at Al Barsha Park

DUBAI: Al Jalila Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Dubai Health, has launched the second phase of its Wellness on Wheels mobile clinic initiative at Al Barsha Park, furthering its commitment to accessible healthcare services.
Operating daily from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM until March 30, the mobile clinics provide free medical consultations, diabetes screenings, vital signs monitoring, and essential referrals.
This expansion follows a successful rollout at Al Khawaneej Park during the first two weeks of Ramadan, in collaboration with the Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department and the Dubai Sports Council.
Bringing healthcare to communities
Dr Dhoha Alawadhi, Director of Community Engagement Programs at Al Jalila Foundation, emphasised the initiative’s goal of reaching diverse community groups. "Our mobile clinics are designed to reach labourers, senior citizens, orphans, and people of determination. We bring healthcare directly to where people live and gather, eliminating barriers to access," she stated.

The clinics provide essential preventive and diagnostic services, including monitoring of vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, and blood oxygen levels. Body mass index (BMI) calculations and screenings for chronic diseases are also available, with tailored guidance on managing health conditions during Ramadan. Patients requiring further medical attention are referred to the nearest healthcare facility, and those in financial need can seek assistance through the Foundation’s A’awen programme, which supports medical expenses for eligible individuals.
Wellness on Wheels
The Wellness on Wheels initiative has received an overwhelmingly positive response from the community.
Mohammed Farhan Iftikhar, a recent visitor, praised the efficient service, saying, "The entire check-up process was smooth and hassle-free."
Another beneficiary, Wafa Ouda, highlighted the convenience of the mobile clinics, stating, "This is a quick and accessible alternative to hospital screenings, bringing essential services to our neighbourhood."
The programme relies on the dedication of volunteers, including healthcare professionals from Dubai Health and medical students from Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences. Their efforts significantly expand the reach and impact of the initiative.
A mission of medical advancement
The mobile clinic initiative aligns with Dubai Health’s Patient First approach and contributes to the UAE Year of Community, fostering a culture of giving and solidarity. Al Jalila Foundation, which leads Dubai Health’s philanthropic mission, has been at the forefront of medical transformation since its establishment in 2013 under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Beyond providing healthcare access, the Foundation funds scholarships for aspiring medical professionals and supports pioneering research tackling critical health issues such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, obesity, and mental health. As a key member of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives and leader of the A’awen programme, Al Jalila Foundation continues to serve as a beacon of hope, advancing medical innovation and improving lives across the UAE.
