Dubai: Dubai International Airport (DXB) is effectively managing a significant surge in passenger traffic during the winter holiday season.
The airport anticipates processing over 5.2 million travellers, averaging approximately 274,000 passengers daily from December 13 to 31. The peak day was on December 20, with nearly 296,000 guests, and the weekend from December 20 to 22 was jam-packed, accommodating around 880,000 travellers.
To manage the holiday influx efficiently, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has reaffirmed its readiness. Lieutenant General Mohammed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, personally visited the airport to supervise the seamless travel exeprience for all passengers. He emphasized the authority's preparedness during the inspection tour of Dubai's airports. He expressed gratitude to passport officers for their dedication and highlighted initiatives like the special children's passport stamping platform, aimed at enhancing the travel experience for families.
Travellers are encouraged to ensure their documents are in order and to utilise smart gates to expedite immigration procedures. These efforts underscore Dubai's commitment to providing a seamless and pleasant experience for all visitors, reinforcing its status as a leading global tourist destination.
