Dubai: The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) launched the Mental Wealth Framework to enhance the quality of life of its citizens. This comprehensive framework, endorsed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, aims to bolster the well-being of Dubai's diverse population.
Dubai Social Agenda 33
The Mental Wealth Framework is aligned with the ambitious goals of Dubai Social Agenda 33, which aims to position Dubai as the world's top destination for people living, working, and visiting Dubai.
In line with best practices
The framework, developed following global best practices and bench-marked against leading international models, introduces ten initiatives designed to uplift mental health standards across Dubai over the next five years, supported by an investment of 105 million dirhams.
His Excellency Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, emphasized the pivotal role of mental wealth in fostering a healthy and harmonious society amidst the fast-paced modern lifestyle.
"This initiative underscores Dubai's commitment to proactive social development and the promotion of well-being at all levels," stated Al Ketbi. "It encompasses a holistic approach to mental health care, encompassing early detection, intervention, support, and prevention strategies, tailored to cater to all segments of our society."
Key objectives
The Mental Wealth Framework encompasses wide range of integration components, such as:
-
Comprehensive model of care that includes all aspects of mental wealth services, early detection, intervention, enhancement, and prevention.
-
Empower educational environments to enhance psychological resilience among students
-
Promote happiness and satisfaction among community members
-
Emphasis on research and innovation to ensure evidence-based decision-making
-
Continuous improvement in mental health outcomes
In line with these objectives, a series of studies will be conducted to ensure the continuous measurement and achievement of psychological and community stability for individuals, particularly those who are prioritized in the framework: the elderly, children, people of determination, and those with chronic diseases, and various other segments of Dubai's society.
