TORONTO: Pakistani journalist in Canada Ashraf Khan Lodhi has been awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal for his contributions to journalism and services to the community.
The honour, presented in Mississauga, Canada, acknowledges his decades of service in media, particularly within the South Asian community.
Canadian Member of Parliament Iqra Khalid officiated the ceremony, celebrating Lodhi’s impact on journalistic excellence.

Ashraf Khan Lodhi began his career as a photographer in Lahore, Pakistan, working with leading publications such as Jang Pakistan, The News, Daily Pakistan, and Pakistan Times. Over the years, he established himself as a respected voice in journalism, known for his dedication to truth and integrity. His contributions extend beyond reporting – he has also been an executive member of the Pakistan Federation Union of Journalists and the Punjab Union of Journalists.

Legacy in journalism
Lodhi’s commitment to journalistic integrity has earned him lifetime membership in the Lahore Press Club and a lifetime Vice Presidency at the Pakistan Sports Journalists Federation. His work has resonated with South Asian communities in Canada, particularly through Jang News Canada, a media platform catering to Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi, and Afghan-Canadian audiences.
