Dubai: In the UAE, having a valid labour card is crucial for all employees. Issued either by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) or the free zone where an individual works, the labour card serves as an official proof of employment and an important form of identification.
Without a valid labour card, you cannot legally work in the UAE.
What does a labour card contain?
A labour card contains key employment details such as the employee’s job role, the employer’s name, and the expiration date of the work permit. This card is not only vital for residents but also for individuals benefiting from the UAE’s visa amnesty programme, which runs until October 30.
Those securing jobs through the initiative will need a valid labour card to work legally.
While the UAE has shifted to digital labour cards, employees still have the option to download and print a physical copy. Though the digital version offers convenience, a printed copy may be useful for those who prefer having one on hand.
