DUBAI: Emirates has unveiled a reimagined Travel Store in Jakarta, Indonesia, reinforcing its commitment to enriching the travel experience for its growing customer base in Southeast Asia.
This strategic expansion follows the successful openings of similar stores in Hong Kong and Manila, signalling the airline’s continuous investment in retail innovation across the region.
Located in the Sequis Tower in the heart of Jakarta’s business district, the new Travel Store spans 221 square metres and is designed to offer a premium in-person engagement space for customers.
The inauguration ceremony was led by Orhan Abbas, Emirates’ Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations – Far East, and attended by Abdulla Salem AlDhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Indonesia, alongside trade partners, dignitaries, and media representatives.
“This innovative concept reflects our commitment to excellence, customer-centricity, and delivering seamless travel experiences,” said Orhan Abbas during the launch.
Customer-centric design
The Travel Store offers a blend of luxury, comfort, and interactive technology, with a layout designed to reflect Emirates’ hallmark hospitality. Guests are welcomed into a modern lounge area featuring soft beige sofas and sleek décor. At the core of the store is a curated showcase of Emirates-branded merchandise and premium travel accessories.
Customers can consult with Emirates’ trained travel advisors at four dedicated service counters for flight bookings, ticketing, Skywards membership queries, and destination information. The store aims to make travel planning more intuitive and enjoyable through one-on-one consultations and a relaxed, premium environment.
Tech-enhanced experience
A highlight of the new concept is a voice-activated LED selfie screen near the entrance, allowing guests to take photos with scenic backdrops of Emirates destinations. Photos can be retrieved via QR codes, eliminating the need for physical printouts.
Another standout feature is a wall-mounted display of the UAE’s national Ghaf tree, symbolising strength and heritage, positioned above a large LED screen showcasing the airline’s global network, offers, and milestones.
Additionally, the Jakarta outlet is the first in Emirates’ network to implement a queue management system that not only reduces waiting times but also integrates WhatsApp feedback, enabling instant customer responses and enhanced service efficiency.
