LAHORE: As Pakistan prepares to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 next month, authorities are rolling out one of the most extensive security plans in the country’s history.

More than 12,000 security personnel, including police, army, Rangers, and paramilitary forces, will be deployed to ensure a safe and secure environment during the tournament, which will be held across Lahore, Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Dubai.

A total of 12,564 officers will be on duty to maintain order during the prestigious event. Lahore will see the deployment of 7,618 officers, while 4,535 personnel will be assigned to Rawalpindi. In addition, 411 officers from the Special Branch will assist in security operations, strengthening the overall security framework. Army and Rangers personnel will play a crucial role in supporting the police, ensuring the safety of players and spectators throughout the event.

Advanced surveillance

To enhance security, aerial surveillance will be conducted with the full support of the Pakistan Army and Rangers. In addition, key routes leading to the stadiums will be monitored in real-time using Safe City cameras, allowing authorities to address any potential threats swiftly. This comprehensive surveillance network is designed to create a secure atmosphere for everyone involved.

State Guest status for players

With the safety of the players being a top priority, all participating athletes will be granted state guest status during the tournament. This status ensures that players receive the highest level of protection, allowing them to focus on their performance while knowing their security is fully managed by the authorities.
