Oman announces Eid Al Fitr 2025 holidays for public and private sectors
Ministry confirms compensation for employees required to work during Eid

DUBAI: Oman has officially announced the Eid Al Fitr holidays for both the public and private sectors, with the break commencing on Saturday, March 29, 2025.
The duration of the holiday will be determined by the sighting of the Shawwal moon.
If Eid falls on Sunday, March 30, the holiday will end on Tuesday, April 1 (3rd Shawwal 1446 AH), with work resuming on Wednesday, April 2. If Eid is observed on Monday, March 31, the break will extend to Thursday, April 3 (4th Shawwal 1446 AH), with official duties resuming on Sunday, April 6.
As per the Royal Orders, holiday of Eid Al-Fitr 1446 AH , for public and private sectors, will start on Saturday, 29 March 2025 and end as per the two following probabilities:

Work and compensation
The Ministry of Labour has clarified that essential work may continue during the holiday period. In such cases, employees must be compensated in accordance with labour laws.
Additionally, businesses have been instructed to ensure that wages for March 2025 are processed before March 27, ensuring workers receive timely payments ahead of the festive period.
