Abu Dhabi has launched a new initiative that offers 10-year UAE Golden Visas to superyacht owners, enhancing the emirate’s appeal as a premier yachting and investment destination.
The programme, named the Golden Quay, aims to attract high-net-worth individuals and key executives from the yachting industry to explore and invest in Abu Dhabi.
The Golden Quay initiative, a collaboration between the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), and Yas Marina, promises a unique opportunity for yacht owners and yachting professionals to secure long-term residency and explore the capital’s luxury lifestyle, world-class marinas, and thriving business ecosystem.
Eligibility criteria
The eligibility for the Golden Visa extends not only to private yacht owners but also to senior figures within the yachting industry. These include influential professionals and executives who play a key role in the operation, building, and servicing of yachts.
How to apply
Eligible applicants will be nominated for the Golden Visa through Yas Marina and ADIO, the official nominating entities. Yacht owners with private vessels measuring 40 metres or more are invited to apply, alongside key executives in the yachting sector, including CEOs, major shareholders in yacht-building companies, central yacht agents, yacht service providers, and yacht insurance providers. Additionally, immediate family members of successful nominees will also be eligible for inclusion under the same residency benefits.
For those looking to establish long-term roots in the UAE, the Golden Quay opens doors to unparalleled investment opportunities, access to exclusive marinas, and the chance to become part of a vibrant business ecosystem. Yas Marina, known for its world-class facilities, will play a pivotal role in the initiative, offering a tailored experience for yacht owners and their families.
In addition to the outstanding benefits for yacht owners, DCT Abu Dhabi has committed to promoting the Golden Quay initiative across key international markets, supporting nominees with bespoke itineraries and assistance during visits.
The programme is in line with Abu Dhabi's Tourism Strategy 2030, aiming to make the emirate a global hub for luxury tourism and yachting. Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, Director General for Tourism at DCT Abu Dhabi, highlighted that the Golden Quay would significantly enhance the city's already strong appeal as a top yachting destination.
