Sharjah Airport braces for Eid Al-Fitr 2025 with over 500,000 passengers expected
Operational readiness ensures smooth travel as peak holiday season approaches

Sharjah Airport is fully prepared to manage a significant surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr 2025 holiday.
Between 27 March and 6 April, the airport is set to handle more than 500,000 passengers and oversee 3,344 flights.
In anticipation of this peak period, the Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA) has implemented extensive operational and logistical measures, working closely with strategic partners to ensure seamless travel for all.
Enhanced operations
The Sharjah Airport Authority has devised a strategic operational plan to maximise efficiency and streamline passenger movement during the holiday rush. This includes deploying additional staff across all critical areas, particularly customer service desks, to provide swift assistance. Special attention has been given to senior citizens, children, and persons with disabilities, ensuring they receive the necessary support for a comfortable journey.
To complement these efforts, the airport’s facilities have been upgraded, with optimised baggage handling and security clearance processes designed to minimise waiting times. These initiatives reinforce Sharjah Airport’s status as a premier aviation hub known for its world-class passenger experience.
Smart travel solutions
A key aspect of the airport’s preparations involves the integration of smart technologies to expedite check-in, security, and boarding procedures. Passengers are encouraged to utilise digital platforms for check-in and baggage drop, reducing congestion and enhancing overall efficiency. These measures align with Sharjah Airport’s broader digital transformation strategy, ensuring passengers enjoy a seamless and modernised travel experience.
With an expected surge in footfall, the SAA advises travellers to arrive at the airport at least three hours before departure to complete all necessary procedures without hassle.
Sharjah Airport serves as a vital link to over 100 international destinations across the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, Southeast Asia, North and East Africa, CIS countries, and Europe. Its extensive flight network plays a crucial role in facilitating travel for both residents and international visitors during the festive season.
