Ajman:  Ajman will implement a new smart monitoring system to detect traffic violations starting October 1, the Ajman Police announced on Wednesday. This system will focus on key violations, including the use of mobile phones while driving and the failure to wear seatbelts.

Strict penalties for distracted driving

Under the new system, drivers caught using their phones or engaging in any other form of distraction while driving will face a fine of Dh400 and incur four black points on their driving license, as per federal law.

Seatbelt compliance

The police have also reminded motorists that wearing seatbelts is mandatory for all passengers in the vehicle, including those seated in the rear. Drivers found violating this rule will also be fined Dh400 and given four black points.

Appeal to motorists

Ajman Police have urged drivers and passengers alike to strictly adhere to traffic laws to ensure road safety and avoid hefty penalties. The new system is part of a broader initiative to enhance road safety across the emirate.
