Masjid-e-Nabawi welcomes 6 million visitors in just one week
Facilities and ease of paying homage have contributed to attracting more people to Madinah
Saudi Arabia: The Masjid-e-Nabqi in Medina, Saudi Arabia, has witnessed a record number of visitors during the past week. According to reports from the General Authority for the Affairs of the Masjid-e-Nabawi, 596,724 visitors flocked to the holy site, with the Prophet's Chamber (Rawdah) alone attracting 598,939 visitors who came to pay their respects to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The visitor surge also saw 254,209 individuals, including 123,932 men and 130,277 women, perform prayers in Riyadh Al-Jinah. The administration reported that 9,172 elderly and disabled individuals received special services during the week.
In addition to these services, the Prophet's Mosque library provided educational services to 12,884 individuals, while 2,000 visitors explored exhibitions and wonder houses. The administration also mentioned that 153,068 men and women were served meals within the mosque's courtyards, and 61,207 visitors received services through golf carts.
The team provided services to 22,627 individuals, and 157,464 individuals utilised transportation services in multiple languages. Moreover, 180,880 bottles of Zamzam water and 226,193 Iftar packets were distributed among the visitors.
This visitor surge is a testament to the continued significance and reverence for the Prophet's Mosque among Muslims globally. The mosque's administration has always been committed to providing top-notch services to visitors, as evidenced by the record-breaking number of visitors in the past week.
