Dubai: The British University in Dubai (BUiD) marked its 20th anniversary in 2024, a significant milestone for the region's leading research-based university. Established in 2003 by His Highness the late Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, BUiD has grown into a thriving institution, offering world-class education, training, and research.
Two decades of academic growth
Over the last 20 years, BUiD has graduated hundreds of master's and Doctoral students in the fields of Education, Engineering, Management, Business, Law, and IT while the first batch of Bachelor students graduated in 2022. The University boasts 7 doctoral programs, 10 master programs, and 4 undergraduate programs including the first AI program in the UAE.
Over the past two decades, BUiD has achieved remarkable academic growth. The university has attracted renowned academic experts to develop regionally tailored programs and has expanded its offerings to include a wide range of disciplines. BUiD's library houses an extensive collection of dissertations and theses, and its students and faculty have contributed significantly to research.

BUiD recently has been placed in the top group for university employability and relevance and in group 2 for top higher education institutions in the latest UAE Ministry of Education classification.
