Sharjah Police have introduced a redesigned vehicle licence plate, reflecting the emirate’s official visual identity.

The updated plates incorporate advanced design elements to enhance aesthetics, security, and service quality.

Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, stated that the new design aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. It symbolises Sharjah’s status as a global hub and a forward-thinking destination.

He further emphasised that this initiative is part of Sharjah Police’s continuous efforts to adopt modern strategies that support excellence and sustainability. The redesigned plates contribute to the emirate’s development and improve overall service standards.

What’s new in Sharjah licence plates?

Colonel Khalid Mohammed Al-Ki, Director of the Vehicle and Driver Licencing Department, highlighted the aesthetic improvements in the new plates. The precise lettering and balanced design elements enhance their visual appeal. Additionally, advanced security features have been integrated to prevent fraud and improve identification processes.

Vehicle owners can replace their current plates with the new design starting Monday, March 3, 2025. The service will be available at all Sharjah Police service centres, ensuring a smooth transition for motorists.
