Shenyang to Dubai: New air route connects northeast China with UAE
80% tickets sold for inaugural direct flight
A new direct air route has opened between Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning province in northeast China, and Dubai, enhancing connectivity between the two cities.
Officially launched today, the route is operated by China Southern Airlines using an Airbus A330-300 aircraft, according to Xinhua.
Shenyang-Dubai flight
The flight departs from Shenyang Taoxian International Airport at 8:10AM (Beijing time) every Saturday and arrives in Dubai at 7:20PM (local time).
For those returning, the flight departs Dubai at 9:20PM (local time) on the same Saturday, arriving back in Shenyang at 1:45PM (Beijing time) the following day.
Each leg of the journey includes a stopover in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, providing a brief transit before continuing to the final destination.
80% tickets sold
According to China Southern Airlines’ Northern Branch, 80 percent of tickets for the inaugural flight were sold to passengers travelling for various purposes, including business, study, work, family visits, and tourism.
This new air route aims to cater to a diverse range of travellers, opening doors for easier travel between the UAE and China, and stimulating both leisure and business exchanges.
Celebrating UAE-China relations
The year 2024 marks a milestone for both countries, as it celebrates the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and the UAE. To celebrate, both nations have implemented a visa-free policy for each other's citizens, further fostering bilateral relations.
This new flight route is expected to facilitate greater cooperation, particularly in trade, science, and technology, with Liaoning Province already having strong partnerships with the Middle East in these sectors.
