UAE petrol prices drop for March 2025; diesel also sees decline
Here’s what you’ll pay at the pump

DUBAI: The UAE Fuel Price Committee has announced fuel rates for March 2025, reflecting a slight decline across all categories.
The revised prices, effective from March 1, bring minor relief to motorists after February’s marginal increase.
March 2025 Fuel Prices:
- Super 98 – Dh2.73 per litre (down from Dh2.74 in February)
- Special 95 – Dh2.61 per litre (down from Dh2.63)
- E-Plus 91 – Dh2.54 per litre (down from Dh2.55)
- Diesel – Dh2.77 per litre (down from Dh2.82)
The reduction in prices aligns with global oil market trends, with Brent crude hovering around $80 per barrel in recent weeks. The UAE’s pricing mechanism ensures domestic fuel rates reflect these international fluctuations, helping maintain market stability.

How fuel prices are set
Since deregulating petrol prices in 2015, the UAE has followed a transparent pricing mechanism influenced by three main factors:
- Global crude oil rates – A key determinant, as fluctuations directly impact local prices.
- Supply chain costs – Transportation and distribution expenses play a significant role.
- Market demand – Consumption patterns help shape monthly adjustments.
Types of fuel in the UAE
Motorists in the UAE can choose from three petrol categories:
- Super 98 – Suitable for high-performance and luxury vehicles.
- Special 95 – A widely used, cost-effective option for most vehicles.
- E-Plus 91 – Designed for fuel-efficient, lower-engine-capacity cars.
Fuel prices in the UAE are announced at the end of each month and are applicable from the first day of the following month. This transparent pricing structure allows residents and businesses to plan fuel expenses efficiently.
