PRAGUE:  The Czech Republic is preparing for a record-breaking year in tourism, aiming to surpass the impressive visitor numbers of 2023. With its rich history, stunning architecture, and vibrant cultural scene, Czechia is solidifying its position as a premier European destination.

A must-visit city

Prague, the captivating capital city, is at the heart of this tourism boom. Anticipated to welcome over 1.5 million tourists in July and August alone, Prague is experiencing a surge in popularity. Visitors are drawn not only to iconic landmarks like Prague Castle and Charles Bridge, but also to the city's dynamic arts scene, bustling markets, and world-class dining options.

"The summer season will be strong, with a substantial number of foreigners coming," says František Reismüller, Director of CzechTourism. "Czechia is not just a destination, it's an experience. Every region has a story to tell, from historical sites to cultural offerings."

Beyond Prague

The Czech Republic offers a wealth of experiences beyond Prague, catering to all types of travelers. History buffs will be enchanted by Český Krumlov, a medieval town with picturesque cobbled streets and stunning architecture. Nature lovers can find solace in the Prachovské skály (Prachov Rocks), a labyrinth of sandstone formations nestled in Bohemian Paradise, perfect for hiking and rock climbing.

Tourism growth

Strategic investments in infrastructure and visitor experiences are fueling Czechia's tourism growth. Government-led campaigns highlight the country's rich cultural heritage and natural beauty, ensuring tourists have seamless access to world-class amenities and attractions.

This focus on visitor experience extends to specific regions, with resources available for those interested in water activities - perfect for travelers from the Gulf region, which saw a 50% increase in visitors to Czechia in 2023.

With its diverse offerings and commitment to visitor satisfaction, the Czech Republic is poised for a record-breaking tourism season in 2024.
