Dubai International Airport (DXB) is about to get even smoother for travelers. A new agreement between the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) and Dubai Airports will allow passengers to check their eligibility for using the airport's smart gates before they even arrive.

Guests arriving and departing at DXB Terminal 3 can go through passport control in a matter of seconds using the enhanced Smart Gates, featuring a new contactless process.

The signing ceremony, attended by Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the GDRFA, and Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, signifies a significant step forward for both entities.

The key feature of the partnership is the creation of an online portal accessible through the Dubai Airport website. This portal will allow passengers to effortlessly check their registration status for the smart gates, eliminating any uncertainty upon arrival at the airport.

This initiative offers a multitude of benefits:

Improved passenger experience: By enabling pre-registration checks, passengers can navigate the airport with greater ease and confidence, especially those unfamiliar with the smart gate system.

Reduced congestion: The ability to check registration status online is expected to significantly reduce queues at the passport control area, leading to a smoother and faster flow of traffic.

Enhanced security: The partnership also fosters cooperation between the GDRFA and Dubai Airports through the establishment of an electronic link between security systems. This collaboration is expected to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of security operations at DXB.

Both Lieutenant General Al Marri and Mr. Griffiths expressed their enthusiasm about the partnership and highlighted the partnership's contribution to Dubai's vision of becoming a world-class aviation hub.

The implementation of this online registration check for smart gates is a testament to Dubai's commitment to innovation and passenger comfort. With this new service, DXB is poised to become an even more attractive destination for travelers worldwide.
