DUBAI: Emirates will restore its second daily flight between Dubai and Beirut from 1 April 2025, boosting weekly passenger capacity by over 5,000 seats in both directions.

The additional service, operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, will provide greater flexibility for travellers and cater to growing demand on the route.

Flight EK957 will depart from Dubai at 0730hrs, landing in Beirut at 1035hrs. The return leg, EK958, will take off from Beirut at 1205hrs, arriving in Dubai at 1655hrs. This new service complements the existing daily flight, EK953/954, which departs Dubai at 1130hrs and returns from Beirut at 1530hrs. All times are local.

The expanded schedule will offer Beirut-based travellers more options for visiting Dubai and connecting to key destinations such as Sydney, Melbourne, New York, Toronto, Kuala Lumpur, and Bangkok. Emirates tickets can be booked via its website, app, retail outlets, contact centre, or through travel agents.

UAE-Lebanon relations

The flight expansion follows UAE’s decision to reopen its embassy in Beirut, which had been closed since October 2021. The diplomatic move is seen as a step towards strengthening ties between the two nations after relations were strained in recent years.

An Emirati delegation visited Beirut in January to oversee arrangements for the reopening. The UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Omar Obaid Al Shamsi, reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to fostering bilateral cooperation and supporting Lebanon’s stability. A recent conversation between UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun further underscored efforts to rebuild diplomatic and economic ties.
