Dubai Creek Pink Day 2024 unites champions and charities
Top golfers gather to drive breast cancer awareness and raise funds for Al Jalila Foundation
Dubai Creek Pink Day, held in collaboration with Knight Frank last week, turned Dubai’s iconic golf scene into a hub of inspiration and community unity.
This annual event, hosted at the prestigious Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, brought together talented golfers and generous patrons to raise awareness around breast cancer and gather funds for the Al Jalila Foundation.
As a highlight of the year, Pink Day celebrated sportsmanship and solidarity for a cause that touches lives worldwide.
Ladies teams
In the Ladies team category, the competition was fierce yet filled with camaraderie. Taking the top spot were Gemma Sinclair, Kerry Potgieter, Lisa Brocklebank, and Rose Lua, who outperformed with an impressive score of 53 (-18). Following closely behind, the team of Asako Torita, Angela Kadyam, Bridget Goodridge, and Lisa Nyman claimed second place. The third place went to Rikke Lindegaard, Karoline Nelson, and Yvon Hunter, marking a strong finish in this prestigious event.
Men’s category
The Men’s team category saw Kevin Savage, Shankar B, Will Macintosh, and Michael Nielsen secure first place, showcasing excellent skills with a score of 56 (-15). Their outstanding teamwork and precision were celebrated by all in attendance.
Mixed teams
The Mixed team category was nothing short of impressive, with Andrea Kjaedegaard, Renata Hovorka, Sharon Allison, and Alexey Leshchenko clinching the top prize. They completed an exceptional round with a score of 53 (-18). Just behind, the team of Karin Schmedes, Bettina Lihotekty, Priyanka Gupta, and Suresh Shawakarman achieved a score of 54 (-17), earning them second place in this competitive category.
Dubai Creek Pink Day
Beyond the scores and trophies, Dubai Creek Pink Day stands as a testament to community spirit, turning a game of golf into a symbol of resilience and support for breast cancer awareness. Funds raised throughout the event, including proceeds from an exciting raffle, were directed to the Al Jalila Foundation.
Over thirty prizes, generously donated by Dubai Creek members, created an exhilarating raffle experience. Lady Captain Janet Kim’s coordination and dedication were integral in making the raffle a success.
After the prize giving, Assistant Golf Service Manager, Trisha Kumar, expressed heartfelt appreciation: “Once again a huge thank you to you all for making Pink Day such a special and memorable occasion. Thanks also of course to our fabulous sponsor, Knight Frank, for their kind support and commitment. Congratulations to all of our winners and we will see you all again next year!”
