DUBAI: As the holy month of Ramadan comes to an end, Eid Al Fitr 2025 is set to begin across most of the GCC on Sunday, March 30, 2025.
However, Oman will observe the occasion a day later, on Monday, March 31, after the country’s moon-sighting committee failed to spot the crescent of Shawwal.
Millions of worshippers across the Gulf are preparing for the early morning Eid prayers, with thousands of mosques, open-air prayer grounds, and designated public spaces ready to accommodate the large congregations. Authorities in each country have released official prayer timings, ensuring that devotees can gather in time for the significant occasion.
UAE
The UAE has finalised arrangements at mosques and large Eid musallahs, with prayer timings confirmed as follows:
- Abu Dhabi: 6:32AM
- Al Ain: 6:23AM
- Dubai: 6:30AM
- Sharjah & Ajman: 6:28AM
- Umm Al Quwain: 6:27AM
- Ras Al Khaimah: 6:25AM
- Fujairah: 6:25AM
Authorities have urged worshippers to arrive early to avoid congestion, as large crowds are expected across the Emirates.
Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs has prepared more than 15,948 mosques and 3,939 open prayer spaces to accommodate the massive turnout for Eid prayers. In major cities, prayer times are as follows:
- Riyadh – 5:36 AM
- Mecca – 6:08 AM
- Medina – 6:05 AM
- Jeddah – 6:10 AM
- Dammam – 5:20 AM
Kuwait
Kuwait’s Ministry of Awqaf has arranged for prayers to be held at 57 sites, including public squares, sports fields, and youth centres. The official prayer time is set for 5:56 AM.
Bahrain
Bahrain’s Sunni Endowments Directorate has confirmed that prayers will be held at all designated mosques and prayer grounds, with the set timing at 5:50 AM.
Qatar
Qatar’s Eid prayer will commence approximately 15–20 minutes after sunrise. The expected time for Doha is 5:54 AM, following a sunrise at 5:39 AM.
Oman
With the crescent moon not sighted, Oman is the only GCC country marking Eid on Monday, March 31. Prayer timings vary slightly by city:
- Muscat – 6:10 AM
- Salalah – 6:20 AM
- Sohar – 6:12 AM
- Nizwa – 6:15 AM
- Sur – 6:11 AM
- Al Buraimi – 6:14 AM
