SHARJAH: Sheikh Khaled bin Abdullah bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Authority, has inaugurated the sixth edition of the Jewels of Emirates Show 2025.

The prestigious event, organised by the Expo Centre Sharjah with support from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), features the participation of over 160 exhibitors and 500 top-tier global jewellery brands.

Following the inauguration on Wednesday, Sheikh Khaled toured the exhibition’s various pavilions, engaging with exhibitors and observing their latest jewellery collections. He visited the ‘Emirati Goldsmiths’ Platform and the newly launched ‘Sharjah Pearls’ Exhibition, where he met Emirati designers showcasing exquisite gold and pearl-adorned pieces.

Sheikh Khaled was accompanied by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI and Chairman of Expo Centre Sharjah, along with Waleed AbdelRahman BuKhatir, Second Vice Chairman of SCCI. Also present were several SCCI and Expo Centre Sharjah board members, as well as key figures including Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI, and Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah.

Visitors to the exhibition can explore the latest collections of diamond, gold, and silver jewellery, along with gemstones, pearls, and luxury watches. A significant highlight is the showcase of Emirati jewellery and gold designers, who present artistic masterpieces that blend modern craftsmanship with traditional heritage.

Abdallah Sultan Al Owais reaffirmed SCCI’s commitment to empowering Emirati entrepreneurs in the jewellery industry. The ‘Emirati Goldsmiths’ Platform, a key initiative of the Chamber, continues to support young Emirati designers, providing them with a valuable platform to showcase their craftsmanship, gain exposure, and connect with industry leaders.

The initiative sees strong participation each year at the Jewels of Emirates Show, helping emerging designers build their brands and refine their expertise. Through this platform, the Chamber aims to elevate the UAE’s standing in the global jewellery market while preserving its rich artistic heritage.

Saif Mohammed Al Midfa highlighted the exhibition’s success as a reflection of the rapid expansion of the jewellery industry in Sharjah and the UAE. He noted a growing demand for exclusive, high-quality pieces, with consumers showing increased interest in designer creations from renowned international and local brands.

Debut of ‘Sharjah Pearls’ exhibition

A key attraction at this year’s event is the inaugural ‘Sharjah Pearls’ Exhibition, organised under the ‘Emirati Goldsmiths’ Platform in collaboration with ‘Suwaidi Pearls.’ The exhibition presents a collection of some of the rarest and most exquisite natural pearls in the region, including unique silver and gold pearls known for their clarity and brilliance.

The exhibition will also host a panel discussion titled ‘The UAE: The Coast of Pearls Through the Ages,’ shedding light on the country’s historical role in the global pearl trade and its contribution to the world’s finest pearls.
