Sialkot: A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) staff member demonstrated exemplary honesty on Tuesday by returning a lost bag containing Rs 5 million in cash to its rightful owner at Sialkot International Airport, as reported by ARY News.
The incident occurred when a passenger traveling from Dammam to Sialkot via PIA forgot his bag containing a substantial amount of cash. The bag was discovered by a vigilant PIA cabin crew member, who promptly handed it over to the airport authorities.
Authorities returned cash swiftly
The authorities at Sialkot International Airport quickly contacted the passenger, who was then reunited with his lost cash. The passenger expressed his deep gratitude towards the PIA staff and airport authorities for their swift action and honesty in returning the money.
A similar incident at Peshawar Airport
This incident follows a similar act of integrity earlier this year. On February 10, at Peshawar’s Bacha Khan International Airport, a porter set a commendable example by returning a large sum of foreign currency to its owner.
In that case, a passenger named Badshah Khan, who had arrived from Riyadh on PIA flight PK-9728, lost 16,000 riyals in the airport lounge. The cash was found by another passenger, who informed the porter. Together, they ensured that the money was returned to Badshah Khan.
These incidents highlight the integrity and professionalism of PIA staff and airport workers in Pakistan, who continue to uphold strong ethical standards in their duties.
