DUBAI: The much-anticipated change in Salik toll system has officially taken effect in Dubai as of January 31, 2025.

The new dynamic pricing structure aims to optimise traffic flow, offering a more efficient road experience for all motorists.

The system, managed by Salik Company, introduces a variable toll rate applicable across all toll gates in the city.

Salik’s new toll rates

Salik’s new toll rates are structured to reflect traffic patterns, with prices fluctuating depending on the time of day. Peak hours, between 6 AM and 10 AM and 4 PM to 8 PM, will see a charge of Dh6 per crossing.

During off-peak hours, from 10 AM to 4 PM and 8 PM to 1 AM, the charge will be Dh4.

The most notable change, however, is the introduction of a toll-free period from 1 AM to 6 AM every day, allowing late-night drivers to save significantly on toll fees.

Sundays and Ramadan adjustments

On Sundays (excluding public holidays and events), the toll will be Dh4, regardless of whether it’s peak or off-peak hours, excluding the late-night period.

The variable rates will also be adjusted during Ramadan, with peak hours shifting to 9 AM to 5 PM and toll-free passage from 2 AM to 7 AM. This flexibility is expected to accommodate the unique travel patterns during the holy month.

The new Salik toll rates promise to offer financial relief and convenience to drivers, especially those with flexible schedules or late-night routines.
