Abu Dhabi: Residents suffering from kidney failure now have greater access to life-saving treatment with the launch of a new dialysis centre in the capital.

The SEHA Abu Dhabi Dialysis Centre, established to provide free dialysis care, aims to enhance healthcare accessibility and improve patient outcomes.

The centre was inaugurated through a collaboration between the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, Abu Dhabi’s official channel for social contributions, and PureHealth, the largest healthcare group in the Middle East, along with its subsidiary SEHA.

Providing critical care for kidney failure patients, the centre ensures that essential treatment is available to those in need, reinforcing the emirate’s commitment to public health. Ma’an has pledged to allocate community contributions toward the centre as part of its broader strategy to support social initiatives addressing key societal challenges.

“This initiative aligns with the UAE’s ‘Year of Community’ and embodies the spirit of collective responsibility,” Ma’an stated.

Free dialysis

Operated by SEHA’s specialized healthcare teams, the centre offers free dialysis sessions, ensuring that residents battling kidney failure receive continuous and high-quality care. Generous contributions from donors have made the establishment of this facility possible.

Abdullah Humaid Al Ameri, Director General of Ma’an, expressed gratitude to all contributors, emphasizing that the centre plays a crucial role in the survival and well-being of renal patients. “The SEHA Abu Dhabi Dialysis Centre is a testament to the power of a unified community in creating long-term social impact. This initiative is part of our ‘From the Community to the Community’ program, dedicated to enhancing access to essential healthcare services,” he said.

State-of-the-art facility
Located on Zayed The First Street, the centre currently accommodates 112 patients who require dialysis three times a week. SEHA plans to expand the facility to serve an additional 56 patients while also introducing peritoneal dialysis services in the future.

Staffed by SEHA Kidney Care professionals, the centre is equipped with advanced hemodiafiltration machines integrated with electronic medical records. These cutting-edge systems allow for real-time patient monitoring and data analytics, further improving the quality of care.

With this initiative, Abu Dhabi continues to strengthen its healthcare infrastructure, ensuring that all residents, regardless of financial status, receive the critical medical treatment they need.
