Dubai Taxi Company PJSC (DTC) and Bolt have signed a strategic partnership to launch the UAE’s largest e-hailing platform.

This major announcement was made during a signing ceremony at GITEX Global 2024 today, positioning Dubai as a global leader in smart mobility solutions. The partnership aligns with DTC's ambition to expand its digital offerings and cement its place as a key player in the Emirate’s growing taxi and e-hailing market, valued at AED 6 billion.

Bolt’s Tech to Drive Dubai’s Growth

Bolt’s cutting-edge digital platform will power the new e-hailing service, enabling DTC to capture a larger share of Dubai’s growing mobility sector. Founded in 2013, Bolt operates in over 600 cities across 50 countries and offers a wide range of mobility solutions, including ride-hailing, food and grocery delivery, and scooter rentals. For Bolt, this collaboration represents a significant expansion into the Middle East, following the company's success in Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

Innovation Fuels Dubai’s Mobility Expansion

Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, CEO of DTC, stated, “This landmark strategic partnership brings together DTC’s fleet of over 6,000 taxis and limousines with Bolt’s position as a leading global mobility platform. The combined strength of both companies will shape the future of urban mobility in Dubai.” The initiative also supports Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority's goal to transition 80% of taxi trips to e-booking, reinforcing DTC’s role in advancing the Emirate’s digital transportation ecosystem.

Sustainable Mobility for a Greener Dubai

Bolt CEO Markus Villig highlighted the positive impact of the partnership, particularly in reducing congestion and pollution caused by the 3.5 million cars currently on UAE roads. By offering a more efficient and shared mobility option, the initiative aims to minimize private car usage and improve the overall quality of life in the city.

Boosting DTC’s Digital and Global Reach

Through Bolt’s global infrastructure and advanced technologies, DTC will enhance its operational efficiency and customer experience. The partnership empowers DTC to leverage Bolt’s international customer base, reinforcing its position as a leading provider of sustainable and innovative transportation solutions in the UAE and beyond.
